The 8th International Day of the Girl Child Conference held in Istanbul by UNICEF, UNFPA, and UN Women in collaboration with Aydın Doğan Foundation

This year's International Day of the Girl Child Conference, organized in Istanbul for the eighth time by UNICEF, UNFPA, and UN Women in collaboration with the Aydın Doğan Foundation presented stories of the successful women who went great guns, the social influencers and activists and the young girls and women who challenged the status quo despite all the challenges they faced.

In the conference themed 'Girls Are Changing the World', it was underlined that investing in the empowerment of girls will open the gates of a better future.


Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, the Chairwoman of Aydın Doğan Foundation, Regina De Dominicis, UNICEF Representative at UNICEF Turkey Asya Varbanova, UN Women Türkiye Country Director and Hassan Mohtashami, UNFPA Turkey Representative answered questions of the young audience in the conference moderated by Yekta Kopan. In her speech, Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, the Chairwoman of the Aydın Doğan Foundation remarked on gender equality and said: "All of us will pay the price for each day without gender equality." Numerous names from the world of arts, sports, science, and culture contributed to the International Day of the Girl Child Conference with their inspiring speeches. In addition to the persons such as Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy and Hadise, the influential names such as Dora Moono Nyambe, İlayda Eskitaşçıoğlu, Jessica Lynne O'Rourke Çarmıklı, Aysu Türkoğlu, and Yasemin Adar were among the speakers of the event.
