Successful female students and their teachers, who stay at dormitories built under the "Daddy, Send Me to School" campaign, were hosted by the Aydın Doğan Foundation, during the "Success Takes Me to Istanbul" trip.
The guests had the opportunity to visit the important universities of Istanbul for four days, and an award ceremony for successful female students was held at Doğan Holding.
40 successful female students staying at dormitories built by the Aydin Doğan Foundation, as a part of the “Daddy, Send Me to School” campaign came to Istanbul accompanied by their teachers under the trip organized as 'Success Takes Me to Istanbul'.
This year, 40 students from Erzurum, Gümüşhane, Nevşehir, Konya, and Muğla and 8 teachers accompanying them participated in the event, which has been organized by the Aydın Doğan Foundation since 2009 and aims to contribute to the development of the vision of successful female students, and bring them together with role models.
Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ: “It is possible to create a more equal and fair society through education…”
An award ceremony was held at Doğan Holding on Tuesday, 6th June, for successful female students. Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, Chairman of the Board of Aydın Doğan Foundation, delivered the opening speech of the ceremony in which she stated, “Education is one of the best ways to empower girls and women and help them reach their full potential. It is an element that will enable us to see women and witness their leadership in all areas of society. Moreover, investing in girls' education can have a positive impact on multiple generations. It is possible to create a more equal and fairer society for everyone by working to achieve gender equality through education... At the Aydın Doğan Foundation, we see that ensuring equality between men and women in all areas of life and the business world will have great benefits. We wholeheartedly believe that all girls and women should be given the opportunity to realize their dreams and discover their potential on the paths they choose. "With this belief in heart, we carry out projects and work in order to make a significant and transformative contribution to gender equality in Türkiye,".
At the end of the ceremony, laptops were gifted to successful students, by Hepsiburada.
They had an Istanbul city tour
Students and their teachers, hosted by the Aydın Doğan Foundation in Istanbul between 3-7 June, visited the historical and cultural sites of the city such as Dolmabahçe Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque, Topkapı Palace, the Istanbul Archeology Museum, the Spice Bazaar, Emirgan Grove, and Sabancı Museum, as well as Istanbul University and Boğaziçi University. Students also received a speech from the Dean of Istanbul University Faculty of Law, Prof. Ömer Ekmekçi and ask him questions.
