The Aydın Doğan Foundation once again hosted successful female students and teachers, staying in dormitories built under the ‘Daddy Send Me to School’ campaign, in Istanbul as a part of the ‘Success Takes Me to Istanbul’ trip. The students celebrated the 23rd April National Sovereignty and Children's Day in Istanbul, and an award ceremony was held at Doğan Holding.
The Aydın Doğan Foundation once again hosted successful female students and teachers, staying in dormitories built under the ‘Daddy Send Me to School’ campaign, in Istanbul as a part of the ‘Success Takes Me to Istanbul’ trip. The students celebrated the 23rd April National Sovereignty and Children's Day in Istanbul, and an award ceremony was held at Doğan Holding.
Thirty-three successful female students, staying at dormitories built by the Aydın Doğan Foundation under the ‘’Daddy Send Me to School‘’ campaign, visited Istanbul with their teachers on a trip organised under the ‘Success Takes Me to Istanbul’ programme.
This year, students from Erzurum, Gümüşhane, Ağrı, Kahramanmaraş, Trabzon, Denizli and Tekirdağ, as well as 11 teachers accompanying them, attended the event, which has been organised by the Aydın Doğan Foundation since 2009 aiming to contribute to developing the vision of successful female students and bring them together with role models.
Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ: ‘Young people play an essential role in economic and social development’
An award ceremony for successful female students was held at Doğan Holding on 24th April. Addressing the young people, Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, Chairperson of the Aydın Doğan Foundation Board of Directors, said: ‘Youth means hope, change and progress... Turning problems into opportunities and solutions, and being the driving force of the society... As agents of change, you will play a major role in the economic and social development of our country. I can see this excitement and this dynamism in all of your eyes, and I am filled with hope for our shared future.’ Stating that Aydın Doğan Foundation supports girls' equal participation and retention in education with the motto “Empowered Girls, Empowered Futures” and stands by them to help them fulfill their dreams, Yalçındağ added: ’Education is one of the best ways to empower girls and women and help them achieve their full potential. Through education, it is possible to create a more equal and fairer society for all... This is why it is so valuable for our young girls to continue their education and achieve higher levels of success. At the Aydın Doğan Foundation, we work to ensure that our girls assume a leadership role in all areas of social life and we strongly support them.’
At the end of the ceremony, Hepsiburada gifted laptops to successful students.

The students and their teachers, who were hosted by Aydın Doğan Foundation in Istanbul between 21 and 25 April, had the opportunity to visit the city's historical and cultural sites such as Dolmabahçe Palace, Topkapı Palace, Blue Mosque, Istanbul Archaeological Museum, Spice Bazaar and Maiden's Tower, as well as Istanbul University and Boğaziçi University
