In 2010, it was opened as a part of the Istanbul Prof. Faik Somer Sports High School Directorate and became an independent directorate with the separation of Fine Arts and Sports High Schools in 2013.
The school, which was named Aydın Doğan Fine Arts High School under the protocol signed between the Aydın Doğan Foundation and the Governorship of Istanbul in 2015-2016, provides education in project school status.
A total of 60 students are admitted to the school, which includes the fields of Visual Arts and Music, through a talent exam each year. Piano education in the field of music is a compulsory course in all music classes, and every student chooses one of the instruments to study further: violin, viola, cello (cello), baglama, oud, zither, guitar, double bass, clarinet, and flute. In the field of Visual Arts, students receive training in two-dimensional and three-dimensional art workshops, sculpture studios, and graphic workshops in addition to the pattern studies course.
