Empowered Girls Empowered Stories

Since the day we were founded as a foundation, we have witnessed the stories of girls growing up in environments where gender is perceived as an obstacle, but still making their dreams come true despite everything, and we took action to inspire other girls in the same situations.

As a result, the book "Empowered Girls’ Inspiring Stories for Empowered Tomorrows: If I Want To", which consists of stories of dozens of young girls from different provinces of Anatolia who have achieved success in many areas by overcoming difficult obstacles.

The book, illustrated by Dilem Serbest brought to life with the valuable stories master women writers of Turkish literature such as Canan Tan, Deniz Erbulak, Feyza Hepçilingirler, Gülten Dayıoğlu, İpek Ongun, Karin Karakaşlı, Nermin Bezmen, Şebnem İşigüzel and Şermin Yaşar In the book, the stories reveal that the sexist stereotypes in the world where girls and boys are not treated under equal conditions are complete illusions created by societies, and these real-life stories inspire young girls who aspire to be leaders of tomorrow.

Inspiring Stories Turned into Inspiring Lives

The second series of the If I Want To book came to life in collaboration with journalist-writer Melis Alphan and photographer Mustafa Seven.

The book "Empowered Girls’ Inspiring Stories for Empowered Tomorrows: If I Want To", which consists of stories of dozens of young girls from different provinces of Anatolia who have achieved success in many areas by overcoming difficult obstacles. Along with the book, a photography show was created consisting of photos from the book itself.

The book, which is out in stores with the Doğan Egmont label, talks about the success journeys of ambitious girls who are active in many fields of life from karate to swimming, space engineering to football, music to aviation, law to robotics.

The book also sheds light on the challenges young girls face, even if they are from completely different regions, including pressure from their environments, from all around Turkey.
