Yücel Paşmakçı

The 8th Aydın Doğan Award, which is given every year to reward individuals and institutions that have won praise in national and international platforms in various fields such as culture, art, literature, science, is given to Yücel Paşmakçı in the field of ”Turkish Folk Music”, in the year 2004.


2004 Aydın Doğan Award Selection Committee; consisting of Muzaffer Akgün, Zehra Bilir, Melih Duygulu, Prof. Dr. Can Etili, Zafer Gündoğdu, Doğan Hızlan, Mehmet Özbek, Arif Sağ, Hasan Saltık, Süleyman Şenel and Neriman Altındağ Tüfekçi, selected Yücel Paşmakçı as the recipient of the year’s award, thanks to his works as performer, educator, manager, choir conductor, researcher and music compiler, and numerous folk songs he contributed to the Turkish Folk Music repertoire.

In addition, the service award was given to the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory and the Folklore Institute by the Selection Board.
