Turkish Music: Prof. Dr. Nevzad Atlığ and Turkish Music Foundation

The 17th Aydın Doğan Award, which is given every year to reward individuals and institutions that have won praise in national and international platforms in various fields such as culture, art, literature, science, is given to Prof. Dr. Nevzad Atlığ and Turkish Music Foundation, in the field of ¨Turkish Music¨, in the year 2013.

The Selection Committee formed by Prof. Dr. Alaeddin Yavaşça (Chairman), Prof. Dr. Adnan Koç, Doğan Hızlan, Erol Sayan, Fatih Salgar, Gönül Paçacı, H. Özgen Gürbüz, Mehmet Güntekin, and Serap Mutlu Akbulut, held a meeting on Thursday, February 7, 2013; and with open discussion and elimination method; considering the past 65 years of Turkish Music, and his everlasting services and productive artistic life, and with his effective, permanent and results-oriented projects over the recent years; Prof. Dr. Nevzad Atlığ is selected as the recipient of the award.
