Selim İleri

The 16th Aydın Doğan Award, which is given every year to reward individuals and institutions that have won praise in national and international platforms in various fields such as culture, art, literature, science, is given to Selim İleri, in the field of ¨Short Story¨, in the year 2012.


The Selection Committee consisting of Doğan Hızlan (Chairman), Nursel Duruel, Prof. Dr. İnci Enginün, Semih Gümüş, Özcan Karabulut, Prof. Dr. Jale Parla, Hüseyin Su, A. Ömer Türkeş and Metin Celal Zeynioğlu, held a meeting on Monday, February 27, 2012, and with open discussion and elimination method; awarded Selim İleri in the Short Story category for his distinct place in Turkish literature with his stories, novels and essays, his language and style by embracing our traditional storytelling, representing a transition between tradition and the new, and for his contributions to Turkish literature not only for his narrative life but also for his literary life.
