The 19th Aydın Doğan Award, which is given every year to reward individuals and institutions that have won praise in national and international platforms in various fields such as culture, art, literature, science, is given to Nobel Prize Winner Author Orhan Pamuk, in the field of ¨Literature / Novel¨, in the year 2015.

Under the Chairmanship of Doğan Hızlan, Prof. Dr. İnci Enginün, Prof. Dr. Nüket Esen, Semih Gümüş, Prof. Dr. Handan İnci, Prof. Dr. Turan Karataş, Prof. Dr. Jale Parla, Ömer Türkeş and Metin Celal Zeynioğlu, the Selection Board held its meeting on Friday, February 6, 2015; and thanks to his work to bring different genres to Turkish literature and open new horizons for the young novelists who follow him with these different genres; his skillful combination of here and the afterlife, earthly and ethereal, East and West poles; and being among our masters representing Turkish literature and novel in the world; the award is unanimously decided to be given to Orhan Pamuk.
