Ertuğrul Özkök completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, School of Press and Broadcasting. After working as a reporter for TRT for a year, Özkök went to France and received a doctorate in Communication Sciences. Upon his return from France, he worked as a lecturer at Hacettepe University. After becoming an associate professor in 1986, he left his faculty membership and joined Hürriyet Newspaper. Özkök, after serving as the Ankara and Moscow representative of Hürriyet Newspaper, continued his duty as Editor-in-Chief. Özkök, who is still a columnist for Hürriyet Newspaper, has many books, “Art, Communication and Power” (1982), “Disintegration of the Masses” (1984), “Farewell Rebellion” (1987), “Stalin Bar” (1989), “The Time Remaining” (1997), “Strange” (2010).
He remained in the position of Editor-in-Chief of Hürriyet for 20 years.
