She has been serving as the Executive Committee President and the General Manager of the Aydın Doğan Foundation since 2004.

Candan Fetvacı completed her high school education at Arnavutköy American Girls' College, and her undergraduate and graduate studies at Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration. Between 1976 and 1995, Fetvacı worked as a "Management Simulation" Program Coordinator in the same department of the university as a specialist in the academic staff. Between 1995-1997, she established the scholarship office of the University and worked as the Coordinator of the Scholarship Office. Between 1997-2004, she was the General Manager of the Boğaziçi University Foundation.

Candan Fetvacı has been serving as a part of the Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TÜSEV) Board of Directors and the London School of Economics "Research in Modern Turkey" Advisory Board Member.
