The Refugees Exhibition opened at Gallery Işık Teşvikiye on Tuesday, October 13

The collection of cartoons submitted to the “Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition” organized by the Aydın Doğan Foundation for the past 32 years focused on Refugees and was presented to the public in İstanbul. The exhibition will be available for viewing as of Tuesday, October 13, 2005, between 10:00 and 18:00 daily.
The Aydın Doğan Cartoon Competition that has been organized by the Aydın Doğan Foundation since 1983, has hosted hundreds of cartoonists from tens of countries and the awards find their recipients after a selection committee of esteemed international cartoonists has evaluated the submitted artworks. Itself the root source of many other social problems, the biggest issue of recent years has been the “Refugee problem”...The Aydın Doğan Foundation, always aiming at a better, and more humane world in its social responsibility projects, prepared the exhibition entitled “Refugees On a Long and Narrow Road” consisting of works selected from the more than 80,000 cartoons in its archive, in order to draw attention to different aspects of the refugee issue.
The exhibition includes cartoons by 37 artists from 16 countries, and will be available for viewing until November 13, 2015.
