BOARD MEMBER

Hanzade Doğan, Founder and the Chairperson of the Board of Turkey, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region's largest e-commerce and technology companies Doğan Online Conglomerate, is viewed as one of the pioneers of Turkey in the online and digital industry. In addition to her achievements in entrepreneurship, she has served in the management of many well-known companies in Turkey.


She has been serving as the Vice President of Doğan Holding, a leader in the energy and media sectors, since 2004. Between 2003 and 2007 she has served as the President of the Executive Committee for Doğan Journalism, which owns two of Turkey's best-selling newspapers; Posta and Milliyet. Hanzade Doğan, who has been the Chairperson of the Board of Petrol Ofisi A.Ş. since 2006, played an important role in establishing a strategic partnership between OMV, Europe's leading oil and gas company, and Doğan Holding.


In 2019, Hanzade Doğan has been selected as "one of the world's most successful female technology entrepreneurs" by Forbes Magazine, as she is leading Turkey's largest e-commerce and technology companies. With the industry-leading e-commerce platform Hepsiburada she founded in 2000, and its subsidiaries that are active in the group companies, and she has been continuing to lead the digital transformation of retail in Turkey. She also founded Turkey's leading games of chance technology platform Nesine in 2006.


In addition to the technology companies she has been leading, Hanzade Doğan has been diligently working on corporate social responsibility projects for Turkey’s social development and welfare, alongside efforts in education to contribute to the society. Doğan, who leads the Aydın Doğan Foundation, has been focusing the efforts of the foundation for the empowerment of girls and women in Turkey. Doğan, who has pioneered the "Daddy, Please Send Me to School" education campaign, aimed to eliminate standing economic and cultural barriers to the education and opportunities for young girls in Turkey. As a part of the project, 50,000 students in various regions of Turkey have received scholarships, and 33 all-girls dormitories have been built to contribute to the enrollment of all girls in schools. Doğan also continues to organize the International Day of the Girl Child conferences in cooperation with the Aydın Doğan Foundation and UNICEF, UN Women and, UNFPA, since 2015 to raise social awareness on girls' education.


Having completed her undergraduate education at the London School of Economics and her master's degree at Columbia University in New York, Doğan is actively involved in various non-profit business and trade organizations. Founding Member and Vice President of the Global Relations Forum, Brookings Institution Board of Trustees Member, and takes an active role in the Columbia University Supervisory Board.


Doğan, who participates as a speaker in international forums, took part as a speaker at the 2020 World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting held in Davos and at the 2019 Fortune Global Forum held in Paris.
