In the modern world where violence and discrimination pose a threat to universal and ethical norms, a sense of tolerance is more important than ever. Cartoons are the main pillars of a society based on tolerance and common sense, and open to different ideas and faiths. The Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition has been organized based on this thought, and today is globally known as the “Academy Award of Cartoons”. The competition has been organized since 1983 and its position and importance are evident in the fact that more over 7,800 artists from 137 countries have participated in the competition to date.
Hundreds of esteemed cartoonists from numerous countries apply to the competition, and its Selection Committee includes the most important cartoon masters of the world.
