The Aydın Doğan Award, which is given every year to reward individuals and institutions that have won praise in national and international platforms in various fields such as culture, art, literature, science, is given to the "Earthquake Research" for the reasons that our country needs to emphasize earthquake as a reality and its importance by maintaining its current status on the country's agenda. It was given to Istanbul Technical University Eurasia Earth Sciences Institute.

The Aydın Doğan Award is given in the field of "Earthquake Research" in 2020 to emphasize the earthquake threat of our country and its importance by keeping it up-to-date; as a result of the interviews and evaluations made with the experts. The award is defined by analyzing the earthquakes that occurred, collecting and archiving the information, and working to inform the scientific world and society. In the light of this information, it was decided to give the award to the Istanbul Technical University Eurasia Earth Sciences Institute, which tried to determine the location and severity of a possible earthquake and carried out such research with internationally successful studies in the light of the data obtained from the sea and land.
