BOARD MEMBER

Volkan Vural, after graduating from Ankara College and Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, in 1964; started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey between 1968-1986 as "First Secretary in the Seoul Embassy" Munich Consulate, Head of the International Economic Organizations Branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NATO International Secretariat Political Department Manager, and between 1982-86 he served as the Head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Economic Relations Department and the Deputy General Manager.


Volkan Vural continued his diplomatic career as an ambassador as of 1986 and became the Ambassador of Turkey for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and afterward in 1988-1993 for the Soviet Union, and following that for the Russian Government. Between 1993-1995 he again served as an Ambassador in the roles of Deputy Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry and the Key Advisor to the Prime Minister; following which he served as an Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany for the Republic of Turkey between 1995-1998. Volkan Vural, between 1998-2000 was given the role of Permanent Representation of the Republic of Turkey to the United Nations, and between 2000-2003, as the Founder Secretary-General for the European Union General Secretariat of the Prime Minister. Volkan Vural, after completing the Ambassadorship for the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra between 2003-2006; retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey as of December 29th, 2006.


Vural, who has been appointed as Doğan Holding's Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors in March 2007, is still in this position. Volkan Vural also served as a Member of the Board of TÜSİAD and as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee until 2015.
